Our Team

edu-sharing is a young, dynamic and professional team of software developers, UX designers, project managers and content editors. We are passionate about developing free software and are committed to free learning content (OER) and open, equal opportunity education. Our office on the campus of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar has co-working & living room atmosphere with retreat areas and a music & sports corner.

In monthly team hackathons and in community workshops with partners and experts we create innovative solutions. Users are our partners - they determine and finance the further development.

UX / UI Designer (m/f)

full-time or part-time with family-friendly, flexible working hours at the earliest possible starting date

Your tasks

You work in a young, innovative team with flat hierarchies, many freedoms and a high degree of personal responsibility.


  • Responsibility for holistic user experience, design and usability of our products and their further development
  • Creation and development of simple and elegant designs and UI patterns in compliance with ergonomic guidelines and standards
  • Identification of user requirements, derivation of usage scenarios and use cases
  • Creation of personas, interaction models, wireframes, mock ups and interactive prototypes & tests in and with the community
  • Preparation and execution of workshops with users
  • Support of software testing and release planning
  • Communication and coordination of concepts and designs with the development team
  • Further development and specification of style guides, participation in product management
  • Support of the marketing team (eg creation of print media, social media, ...)
  • Conducting design trend research and competitor analysis
  • Sensitization of the team for user experience

Your Profile
  • Completed university degree in media design, graphic or communication design, HCI, software development with a focus on usability or a comparable completed education
  • Work experience is desirable
  • Ability to put the needs of users and their goals at the center of your daily work
  • Experience with design and prototyping software like Balsamiq, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Experience Design, Illustrator, InDesign, & Co.), Sketch, InVision or similar
  • pronounced understanding of design and a keen eye for innovative and future-oriented design
  • Ability to judge the usability and design quality of a product
  • You are familiar with different UX methods
  • You work both team-oriented and independently
  • You are convincing with communication skills, high social competence, assertiveness and humour.
  • Experience in software development processes and ticket systems is a plus
  • Very good command of German and English, both spoken and written

System Administrator (m/f)

Your tasks

Take care of modern IT infrastructures - from individual media distributions to entire state school cloud solutions

  • Installation, configuration and maintenance of Linux operating systems, e-learning systems and edu-sharing open-source software
  • Development and maintenance of logging and monitoring systems (Nagios, ELK-Stack)
  • Building and Maintaining Continuous Build Integration Server (Jenkins)
  • Creation of system documentation
  • Creation and documentation of work and process flows
  • Collaboration in 1st and 2nd Level Support
  • Development and maintenance of our development environments (GitLab, JIRA, Confluence)
  • Expansion and maintenance of other company IT systems (Mail, Samba-Share)

Your profile
  • Apprenticeship or studies focusing on computer science or professional experience as system administrator (m/f)
  • Experience

Software Developer (m/f)

Your tasks

Develop modern open-source education technologies in a young, interdisciplinary team. Work in an inspirational community in projects from application practice to R & D


  • Participation in the entire development process of our software applications in the frontend and / or backend environment
  • Implementations based on modern technologies (Java 8, Angular et al. Frameworks)
  • Conducting performance analysis and optimization as well as planning and implementation of unit tests

Your profile
  • completed studies in (applied) computer science or equivalent training
  • Several years of development experience with Java / JavaScript (Angular)
  • Experience with databases and search technologies
  • You work both team-oriented and independently
  • You convince with communication skills, high social competence and humor
  • Machine learning experience would be a plus
  • Very good German and English skills
