Working on information services of OER repositories at edu-sharing hackathon
26. October 2017edu-sharing hackathon october
26. November 2017Like every last Thursday of the month also in September the edu-sharing Team met for a hackathon. Jointly the edu-sharing team and community members ponders and puzzles together at a hackathon to find innovative and future-oriented ideas and concepts. In this month the participants has chosen following topics:
- Integration of learning apps as a source for edu-sharing
- Image editor (in the Angular)
- CC baby hatch – an (anonymous) submission service for OER materials
1. Integration of learning apps as a source for edu-sharing
Learning apps are small interactive learning modules, such as gaps, multiple choice tasks, or other exercises. They serve to support learning and teaching processes in the e-learning sector. At the Hackathon the team has integrated this platform as a content source for the edu-sharing search.
2.Image editor
Hackathon Team 2 has integrated an image editor into edu sharing. With the Angular framework now pictures can be uploaded in the edu-sharing workspace and can be edited via the image editor:
Via right-clicking the dialog box is opened and is displaying the image editor as well. In the next step the selected image can be edited with the tools, changed in color, contrast and brightness and saved again.
3. CC baby hatch – an (anonymous) submission service for OER materials
Open up more free teaching materials by collecting them with an OER baby hatch – this has been discussed by the OER community since a while. How such a tool could look like? This is what Team-3 has worked on.
The baby flap could become a function for edu-sharing OER repositories where editorial teams receive materials and enter into OER portals.
