What is a Hackathon?
The neologism hackathon combines the two terms "to hack" and "marathon". The composition of both words created the word "hackathon" at the end of the 1990s. A hackathon is an event that collaborates on innovative software and hardware solutions. The aim of an edu-sharing hackathon is to develop creative non-profit IT infrastructures, tools or software for the edu-sharing community .
What means #hack4OER?
edu-sharing is a software solution that is particularly beneficial for education and e-learning. In order to continually develop and optimize the software, we organize hackathons specifically for OER.
OER are Open Educational Resources. These are educational materials available under a free license so that they can be used, edited and shared by teachers and learners.
